Under 9's Leopards 1
Adam Inkpen (1)
Markfield Colts 2

Sunday saw the first home fixture for the Under 8 minors Mowbray Leopards v's Markfield Colts. The starting line up consisted of Michael Frew in goal (his debut in this position) David Burrows & Elliot Hardman in defence, with a midfield of Adam Inkpen, Callum Dolphin-Rowland and Max Ellis with William Brightly up front. Not forgetting a Subs bench of James Phillips, Taylor Jordan and Harry Street.

The game was very close with good opportunities going to both sides, Michael held the score to a 0-0 at half time with some good saves, his long goal kicks tested the opposition. Every player had some time on the pitch during the first half, with David having to come off because of a foot injury. Taylor Jordan showed of his pace on numerous occassions whilst tracking back as the last line of defence with some very important tackles. Max had yet another good game passing the ball well and keeping the Markfield players at bay.

The second half saw the Leopards change over there goal keeper with David stepping upto the challenge (yet another debut in nets) and Michael showing his prowess on the pitch. Adam made a run down the right wing followed by a good shot from a tight angle and 1-0 to the Leopards. This then saw a lot of pressue from the Leopards which was reflected by a narrow miss by William. Markfield made a quick break and caught the Leopards off gaurd just after a substitution and equalised. The midfield of Elliot and Callum worked very well with some strong, but fair tackles, James got himself into some good postions only to be thwarted by the Markfield defence. Harry for his first game proved be a tricky player for the opposition.
As the Leopards went for the the win another break away saw the winner for Markfield making the score 2-1.
